AMA Insurance

History of the Alberta Motor Association

Starting in November of 1926, the Alberta Motor Association (AMA) began offering insurance to Canadian customers. This happened after a merger between the Edmonton Automobile and the Good Roads Association, as well as the Calgary Auto Club. It wasn’t until 1959 that the company began offering accident insurance, and in 1962 AMA began offering auto insurance. Now more than 908,000 people are members of the AMA, the largest provider of auto insurance in Alberta.

Regions Served by AMA

The AMA is divided into six geographic regions across Alberta – Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Medicine Hat and Lethbridge. Volunteer directors are appointed for each of these six regions, chosen from its members to act as its own Advisory Board.

AMA became one of Canada’s leading auto insurance companies by providing superior customer service combined with exceptional car insurance policies. Honest and ethical treatment is on the forefront of the AMA. The insurance organization goes above and beyond to ensure that each and every member receives the best possible insurance for any of their needs, combined with professional, friendly service. The goal of the AMA is to build long-lasting relationships with each customer.

While profit is, of course, important to the AMA, the company is driven by success of the company in more ways than cash flow. Operating in a professional and business-like manner, along with friendliness that customers expect and deserve are the most important aspects of the AMA business. The policy that you select is always customized to fit your needs.

AMA is always striving to improve their service by considering new and innovative products in the industry. The company also seeks to excel their current product offerings in any possible way. These things, combined with great policies at some of the best prices throughout Canada keep the AMA a favourite amongst Albertan drivers.
