10 Things to Keep in Your Glove Compartment

People spend lots of time in their cars. People use cars for transportation, for jobs, and sometimes even as a place to relax. Students that are away at college (and have a car) should always have these things in their glove compartments. With so much time spent in our cars, we should really be looking at what we keep in our glove compartment. For some, a glove compartment is a place where they keep old receipts or napkins. However, the glove compartment can be a great place to store some valuable things that you should have in your car. Here are 10 things that you should have in your glove compartment, in any car that you have.

1) Emergency Numbers

In case you get in an accident or something happens to you or your phone, having emergency contact numbers in your glove box will help those that need to help you.

2) Pen and Paper

Having something to write on is always useful. Even if you store everything on your phone, there may be a day when your phone dies and you need a way to write something down.

3) Proof of Insurance

This is mandated in every province in Canada. You will have to have this handy if you get pulled over by a cop or get in a small fender bender.

4) Owner’s Manual

You always want to have this in your car. It can help you when car troubles arise or even if you can’t remember where to put your windshield washer fluid or anti-freeze.

5) Flashlight

If you get stranded on the side of the road at night, or you lose something under your seat, a flashlight is a great thing to have in your glove compartment.

6) Water and Treats

Having water and some snacks in your car is important. It may come in handy when you are stranded on the side of the road, or when you just need an extra boost while combating rush hour traffic.

7) Napkins

If you need to clean up a mess, or even wipe up a small spill, a napkin is something good to have in your car.

8) First Aid kit

No matter what vehicle you drive or where you are going, you should always pack along a first aid kit. You want to make sure that you are safe for the small things that may happen to you when you are in the car. Before your next trip, take the time to learn how to administer first aid, even if it is just at a basic level. The more you know, the more likely you can help your friends and family members, should a medical situation arise on the road.

9) Plastic Grocery Bags

If you start to have too much trash in your car, stuff some grocery bags in your glove compartment for when you need them. No one likes a dirty car and carrying a few extra bags should help you clear up that problem in minutes.

10) Wipes

For the occasional spill or sticky thing that gets stuck, wipes are a great thing to have in your car.

Your car is a place where you may spend a lot of your time. Keep these 10 things in your car just in case. You will be glad you did.
