Auto Insurance From The North Waterloo Farmers Mutual Insurance Company

The North Waterloo Farmers Mutual (NWFM) Insurance Company began serving Waterloo County more than 130 years ago. They currently work with a network of independent brokers to provide commercial, home, automobile, and farm insurance products in Ontario. They now offer insurance coverage to all of Ontario, not just the Waterloo County area. The company’s head office is located at 100 Erb Street East in Waterloo, Ontario. You can call them on the phone at 519-886-4530 or at toll free at 1-800-265-8813. Their 24-hour claims response line is 1-800-265-8813 (in Canada) or 1-888-224-5677 (in the United States).

History

The company was established on June 9, 1874 and Levi Stauffer was the first president. The North Waterloo Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company issued 200 policies in their first year, eventually expanding their operation into neighbouring counties. In 1958, the company changed their name to North Waterloo Farmers Mutual Insurance Company – taking out the word “fire” to better reflect the variety of products they had for offer. They are currently one of the largest providers of farm property insurance in Ontario. Upon their 125th anniversary, North Waterloo Insurance published a commemorative document with information about the company’s rich history in Ontario.
